Windows Media Source Files
If conversion from ASF, WMV or other Windows Media file halts
unexpectedly or produces incomplete or out of sync results the source file may have a damaged index or perhaps you don't have the codec
that was used to create your source movie.
If the index is at fault you can re-index the source file with Microsoft's
Windows Media tools.

To index a WMV file use the Windows Media File Editor

From the main File menu select Save and Index.

For network administrators who wish to deploy the Windows Media Audio and Video
codecs, there is a codec installation package designed to enable network
administrators to deploy these codecs within their network. This package only
supports version 7.0 and later of the Windows Media Player, and Media Player for
Windows XP.
